A group of concerned residents is promising more action after the City Clerk determined that the Waste Collection Petition is insufficient.

Based on a number of factors and the legal opinion of the City Solicitor, City Clerk Lyndon Stachoski made the recommendation to Estevan City Council that no further action on the petition be required.

In his report, City Solicitor Paul Elash listed a number of deficiencies in the document including improper wording and uncertainty in the question posed.

Petitioner Natalie Kleinser says the group will still pursue whatever venue necessary, adding that the number of signatures is sign that the debate is not over.

According to Kleinser, the group is presently working on several avenues.
