Despite a wet start to the week, work has commenced on the King Street rehabilitation project.

City Engineer Kiflom Weldeab shared an update as to their plans.

"We have contractors on-site at Bannatyne Avenue and King. For most of this week we will be working at that intersection and improving it. Once that's complete we will move to the  Pine Avenue intersection and work backwards, east to west."

"Saskpower removed three streetlights from the north side, and they will reinstall them once everything is finished," he added.

Weldeab then revealed the next step.

"We have a pending proposal to do some surface work between Souris and Arthur. It needs some upgrading so that would be our next phase."

Motorists are reminded to follow the published detour routes and obey all signage.
