It wasn't the end to the seasn they were hoping for, but the Carlyle Cardinals put in the effort and gave their opponents a run for their money. They managed to make their way into the final, where they fell 14-4 to the Border City Blue Jays.

"It was actually a great weekend for us. A tough loss in the final against a really good team, but we had a young team this year and to make it all the way to the finals was a great accomplishment for sure," stated Player Daniel Rasmussen.

"I think we has a fairly good idea we were capbable of doing what we did. We came together at the right time, we had good pitching throughout the season, and that led up towards making it into the final in provincials."

All players in the tournament were dressed in standard baseball attire, despite the forty degree weather.

"It was tough, it was warm. It was a battle, for sure. You could see it on (everyone's) faces, too, they were struggling with the heat. It was quite the weekend for that," Rasmussen expressed.

They expect most of this year's roster to return for next season, providing a building block for future success for the club.
