To say that the Toronto Blue Jays are having a rough time could be considered an understatement.

Heading into the beginning of the week on April 11th, they faced the Milwaukee Brewers in Rogers Centre with a record of 1-5, already their worst start in franchise history. However, it got worse.

The record slid to 1-7 following the two game series sweep by the Brewers, the Jays losing 4-3 and 2-0.

They then took on the Baltimore Orioles for four games at home, and dropped the first one 2-1. That's when the lightning struck.

Third baseman Josh Donaldson, who had in spring camp strained his right calf muscle, and tweaked it again during April 9th's game against Tampa Bay, felt the full force of his heroic efforts on the diamond in the first game and re-aggravated the injury, resulting in his dropping out in the sixth inning. He was then placed on a 10-day disabled list.

Things went farther south with a 6-4 loss in game two. There was a light at the end of the tunnel after designated hitter Kendrys Morales hit a solo walk-off homer to win the third game 2-1, but it was quickly snuffed out as the Jays went on to take an 11-4 loss in game four.

The stroke of bad luck really showed itself during those nine innings, as pitcher J.A. Happ had to drop out in the fifth due to a sore shoulder. The team also had to play without pitcher Aaron Sanchez, who was on the 10-day disabled list because of a serious lingering blister issue.

All in all, it's a long uphill climb that the Canadian ball club has to make to nab a decent position in the standings. They will take those first steps on Tuesday, April 18th, as they kick off a three game series against the Boston Red Sox in Rogers Centre, then head to Los Angles to take on the Angels for four games.

Here's the Toronto Blue Jays' schedule for April 18th to 24. All games can be heard on CJ1150, starting with the pregame show at the listed time.
