After starting off the season 0-4-2, the Midget AA Estevan Apex Bruins have now rattled off five wins in a row following a shake up behind the bench.

On Friday night in White City, the Bruins picked up a 4-1 win over Prairie Storm Extreme Hockey.

Prairie Storm jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 1:28 into the opening period. Triston Sorenson would get the Bruins on the board with a play from Terran Holzer and Zach Ashworth.

Jaiden Gervais would get the Bruins in front 2-1, with Dawson Schaff and Terran Holzer drawing the assists.

Tristian Seeman extended the Bruins lead in the third period to 3-1, scoring on the power play from Dawson Schaff and Jaiden Gervais. Dawson Schaff would add another from Jaiden Gervais and Josh Romanyk to give the Bruins four unanswered goals. The win gave the black and gold their third straight victory and improved their record to 3-4-2.

The Melville Millionaires made their way to the energy city for back to back games on Saturday and Sunday. In two high scoring affairs, the Bruins combined for 20 goals on the way to wins of 11-5 and 9-6.

The Bruins stormed out to a 6-0 lead just 15 minutes into the first period and never looked back. The Millionaires would cut their lead in half with three straight goals of their own, but it wouldn't be enough as the Bruins would score four straight and add another for the 11-5 win on Saturday. Dalton Schrader led the way with two goals and three assists while Tristian Seeman added four assists.

It was much of the same on Sunday with the Bruins offense continuing to pour it on Melville during a 9-6 win.

Sunday's win improved the Bruins record to 5-4-2 and vaulted them into second place in the standings.

The Apex Bruins travel to Wilcox on Friday to play the Hounds to start another busy weekend with three games in as many nights.
