After finding out the news that Chapmans Fine Foods would be donating $5,000 to the minor ball program in Arcola, minor ball president Cody Grimes spoke with elation when talking about the generous deed.

"Ecstatic really. We knew that the group was putting together something to look at donating some money to ball. We didn't really know what to expect, we didn't expect anything. It's not that easy to raise money these days and I thought they did a heck of a job."

Grimes also spoke about what and where the money will go towards.

"I'm not sure if it will just be for minor ball. From an equipment stand point, minor ball is okay right now but we're probably looking at putting this money towards facilities."

"Our facilities are okay but there is a lot of stuff that needs upgrading. Our infields could use some work, dug outs, fences and bleachers. This is thrown on us and we haven't put it into one particular thing. But were going to discuss, it's not only going to help minor ball but slow pitch and regular baseball as well."
