It was a successful Wednesday night for a pair of Estevan Minor Lacrosse teams.

The Power Dodge Novice Estevan Voltz got things started in a double header at Affinity Place, hosting their rivals from Weyburn. Estevan would end up on the winning side, taking a 5-2 victory from the Thrashers.

"The seasons been going pretty good, over half of our team is first year lacrosse players," Head Coach, Mark Crossman said. "A lot of new faces with a lot to learn, they work really hard and we have lot's of good runners who giver out there, it's been fun.

The KPCL Bantam Voltz followed up with a 10-0 win over the Weyburn Thrashers, improving their record to 4-0-1 during the regular season.

"We kind of started slow but we really came on in the second and third," explained Head Coach, Blaine Chrest. "If not for a really good performance from their goalie, the score could have been a lot more with the 55+ shots we had on net."

Not only have the Bantam Voltz seen success in the regular season, it has also translated to a pair of tournament wins. According to Chrest, the familiarity and growth of Estevan Minor Lacrosse is a contributing factor to their winning ways this season.

"We have a lot of kids that can really move the ball. Players that have been playing for a while are really showing how much skill they have. This group has played since they were six or seven, they grew up in this system and they put in a lot of work at it," Chrest said.

The KPCL Novice Voltz were on the road in Weyburn during Wednesday night, where they fell 9-5 to the Thrashers.
