It was a busy weekend for Estevan Lacrosse as several different Voltz divisions were spread out across the region in various competitions. Some results were a cause for celebration, others were lessons to learn and grow from.

The Bantam Voltz headed to Swift Current on Saturday where they went to work against the Rampage Black, ending in a 4-4 tie. Following that they took on the Rampage White for an 11-5 win. On Sunday, they hopped over to Regina where they defeated the Bandits 8-2 and took victory over the Hawks with a 13-3 score. This secured them in the first place spot in the standings.

"The boys started kind of slow in our first game, and that was our tie. They really built off that took the next three games quite handily over the other Swift Current and two Regina teams," said Manager Blaine Chrest, "(It's) very nice to clinch first place with one game left, and certainly we want to try and win that one to go on undefeated."

So far, the Bantams have not lost a single match in the 2018 season, with a record of 9-0-2 and one final opponent to subdue in the Queen City, and Chrest credited solid teamwork as the fundamental factor in their success.

Meanwhile, the Peewee Voltz made the trip to Lumsden on Saturday to play two teams from Regina. Although a victory wasn't to be found, they made the best of it. Game one was a close 7-6 loss, and in game two they fell 8-1.

"The kids played hard, had a good come back in the first game. In the second game we ran a short bench and were pretty tired. The boys said they learned some lessons, every day we play is a learning experience, but it was a rough weekend for us," stated Head Coach Trevor McNabb.

He added that they're looking forward to giving a good push in the playoffs, and developing as a team.
