The Redvers Rockets are now just one win away from their first Big Six title in team history.

Led by their captain Jordon Miller, who scored the last three goals of the game, Redvers defeated Carnduff 4-2 in Game 3 of the Big Six Championship final. The Rockets now lead the Best-of-7 final (3-0).

HIGHLIGHTS

The overtime hero in Game 2 for Redvers got the scoring started in Game 3, as Rockets' defenceman Koltyn Miller beat Carnduff's Cody Dumaine on the powerplay to make it 1-0 Redvers. That would remain the score heading into the 2nd period.

Carnduff would tie the game up on a powerplay just 45 seconds into the middle frame, as Trevor Geiger sniped his playoff-leading 10th goal to make it 1-1.

The Red Devils would take their first lead of the game halfway through the period, as Kody Martin rushed the puck up the ice and into the offensive zone. From the corner, Martin spotted Matt Audette alone at the hashmarks who made no mistake, beating Thomas Bauche with a quick shot to put Carnduff ahead 2-1.

But before the 2nd period would end, Redvers would tie the game. After keeping Carnduff pinned in their own zone for almost a minute, a loose puck came out of the corner and onto the stick of Jordon Miller. He fired a snapshot into the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2 heading into the final period.

Just over a minute into the 3rd period, Miller would strike once again as the captain came racing down the left wing and fired a shot past Dumaine's blocker to give the Rockets a 3-2 early in the final period.

The rest of the period would be tense, with both teams coming close to getting the all-important next goal. With less than five minutes to play, Geiger and Audette came down on a 2-on-1, with Geiger elected to shoot and ringing the puck off the post and out.

Carnduff would pull the goalie for the extra attacker with 2:03 left in regulation. The Red Devils would control the play in the Redvers zone, but we're unable to get a quality shot through and onto Bauche. After a faceoff in the Rockets' zone went around the boards, Carnduff kept the puck in only momentarily before Redvers lifted it out to centre. Jordon Miller won a footrace for the puck and completed his natural hat-trick into the empty net for a 4-2 lead.

That would hold up as the final score, as Redvers has pushed Carnduff to the brink of elimination with wins in the first three games of the series. Redvers (8-0) has not lost a game this playoff season. They've won 10 straight games dating back to the end of the regular season, and have also won 17 of their last 18 games.

Game 4 is scheduled for Friday night in Redvers at 8:00pm. If a Game 5 is necessary, it will be played Sunday, March 25th in Carnduff at 7pm.
