Big Six Hockey kicked off on Friday for the first set of games in 2018.

The league dominating Carnduff Red Devils hit the road to Oxbow to play the 7th place Huskies, where they added a 13th win to their streak. Sean Mulchay and Blake McMillen took control for Carnduff in the first frame with three unanswered goals. Although Oxbow outscored their opponents in the second 2-1, the Red Devils added another in the third period to seal the deal 4-2.

Meanwhile, coming off a their first victory of the year, the Arcola/Kisbey Combines took on the Mustangs in Midale. The Mustangs found the mesh three times in the first period, and four more times in the second before the Combines could squeeze one past Midale netminder Jeff Davies in the third frame. Two more of the same were answered by three goals from the Mustangs to put the nails in the coffin for a 10-2 final score.

The action picks up for Saturday night when the Carnduff Red Devils head to Bienfait to take the Coalers at 7:00. Meanwhile, the second place Flyers will host the Redvers Rockets in Wawota, the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings visit the Combines in Arcola and Cougars welcome the Oxbow Huskies to Carlyle, all at 8:00 PM.
