Following the first game of the total-point series between the Rocanville Tigers and Carnduff Red Devils, the Big Six squad from Carnduff were preparing to do some serious digging as they trailed 4-2 heading back to Rocanville for a tougher test in Game Two.

So the Red Devils got out their shovels and dug themselves back into the series after the first 20 minutes on the road on Friday night.

Just 16 seconds into the opening period, Jordon Miller scored for Carnduff to quickly put doubt into the Tigers' mind and put the Red Devils up 1-0. Six minutes later, Trevor Geiger scored on the powerplay to make it 2-0 and tie the total point series.

Carnduff's two pickups from Oxbow for provincials, Derek Cooney and Taysen Holt, would combine for the first time in the series with Cooney putting Carnduff ahead in the series and ahead in the game 3-0. Rocanville would finally respond just 30 seconds later with Dustin Fisher making it 3-1, only to see Brady Gaudet restore the series lead for Carnduff with 44 seconds left in the 1st period to make it 4-1 Carnduff.

A Rough Series Would Reach Its' Boiling Point In The 3rd Period.

The Red Devils would continue to pour it on in the middle frame, extending their lead to 7-1 with two goals from Nico Anderson and Geiger's second of the game. Carnduff now led the total-point series 9-5 with only 28 minutes remaining in regulation...but the hometown Tigers didn't go down without a fight.

Rocanville stormed back to end the 2nd period scoring four unanswered goals (Devin LeBlanc, Fisher, Brad Hickman, Ashley Howie) to make it 7-5 and pull the total-point series back into a tie at 9-9 heading into the final period.

However, the Red Devils would battle back through that adversity and retake the series lead just three minutes into the final frame. Miller scored his second of the game and third goal of the series to make it 8-5 (10-9 in the series).

The next 15 minutes would be more tremendous provincial hockey, with both teams looking for that crucial next goal to change the series. The goal would come with 2:10 remaining in regulation, and it would come from Taysen Holt getting his first goal of the series to give Carnduff a two-goal lead in the series.

Just 40 seconds later, Holt would score again to make it 10-5 (12-9 in the series), clinching a victory for Carnduff. But immediately after that last goal, the intensity would boil over and a powderkeg would ignite.

During the stoppage of play after Holt's goal, the two teams combined for 99 penalty minutes. That featured a fight between Carnduff's Zach Halvorson and Rocanville's Travis Statz with each player earning two game misconducts and multiple other players earning roughing minors and 10-minute misconducts. Carnduff's Cody Dumaine was also given a 4-minute penalty for leaving the crease during the melee to help fill out the penalty section of the scoresheet.

When the final buzzer finally rang, Carnduff completed an impressive comeback to take the series by a combined score of 12-9. The Red Devils will face the Odessa Bruins in the next round (two-game/total-point) of Provincial 'B' action.
