The Carnduff Red Devils have been eliminated from the Senior 'B' provincial playoffs after suffering back-to-back losses to the Balcarres Broncs over the weekend.

After winning Game 1 on the road in Balcarres 6-4 a week ago, Carnduff had two opportunities to win a game and punch their ticket to the provincial final.

Their first chance came on home ice on Saturday night as they hosted Balcarres in Game 2, and the Red Devils got off to a tremendous start just like in the series opener.

Carnduff led 3-0 after the 1st period, with Jordon Miller, Landon Senchuk and Jordan Cooney all getting on the board. However, Balcarres wouldn't let their season come to an end lying down.

The Broncs scored twice early in the 2nd period to make it 3-2. After Cody Moore responded for Carnduff to make it 4-2, Balcarres scored two more goals in the final five minutes of the period to even the game at 4-4 heading into the final period.

Balcarres would take their first lead at any point in the series with the go-ahead goal just three minutes into the final frame to make it 5-4. Minutes later, the Broncs would score again to make it 6-4. Carnduff would pull the goalie in the final minute, and get another goal from Cooney to close the gap to 6-5 with 36 seconds remaining, but would be unable to come up with the equalizer.

Balcarres took Game 2 by a 6-5 final, forcing a deciding Game 3 on Sunday back at the Polardome.

Carnduff Was Unable To Come Back Late In Games 2 & 3.

Carnduff would need to come up with their second road win of the series in Balcarres to advance to the Senior 'B' provincial final.

This time though, the Balcarres Broncs would get the first win for a home team in the series with a 6-4 victory in the elimination game.

The Red Devils played three games in three nights over the weekend, losing 4-3 in double overtime on Friday night against the Redvers Rockets in Game 2 of the Big Six Final. It marks the first time all season that Carnduff lost three games in a row.

Balcarres advances to take on the Beechy Bombers in the Senior 'B' provincial final.
