After a 5-4 win in Odessa last Friday, Carnduff returned to the friendly confines of the Fast Centennial Arena with a chance to advance to the Provincial 'B' South Final with a victory at home. They did not disappoint.

Matt Audette Scores On The Powerplay In The 2nd Period.

The Bruins' gave Carnduff an early scare as Odessa's Jeremy Seitz scored 1:00 into the game to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead, evening up the total-point series quickly. Before the end of the first period, Carnduff would respond as Jordon Miller found Matt Audette in the slot who made no mistake to make it 1-1 after one.

The Red Devils kept on rolling in the 2nd period, led by their top guns. Miller put Carnduff up 2-1 with 9:00 left in the middle frame, finishing off a pass from Audette. Moments later on the powerplay, Miller would return the favour setting up Audette for his second of the game to make it 3-1.

The key moment in the series came with two minutes left in the 2nd period. Odessa was feverishly searching for the next goal, firing hard shots at Carnduff's Cody Dumaine and coming close to beating him on the rebounds. But Dumaine held the fort and the Red Devils went down the ice where Brandon Trask scored to make it 4-1 Carnduff heading into the final frame.

Shawn Gallant Scores In The 3rd Period Of Tuesday's Win.

The first seven minutes of the 3rd period saw the whistle blow only once. The second time it did, Carnduff had added another goal to their total as Shawn Gallant fed Nico Anderson for a cross-crease one-timer to put the Red Devils up 5-1. The Bruins' would respond a minute later as Odessa captain Kyle Stroh scored to make it 5-2, but any thought of a Bruins' comeback would quickly be squashed.

Gallant pinballed a shot into the net with 9:55 left in regulation to make it 6-2 Carnduff, then captain Kody Martin scored a powerplay goal with 8:08 left on the clock to round out the scoring in a 7-2 final for Carnduff.

Carnduff advances to the next round of SHA Provincial 'B' playoffs, facing the winner between the Balcarras Broncs and Esterhazy Flyers. Balcarras leads 2-1 after Game 1.
