HIGHLIGHTS:

There's nothing quite like provincial hockey season in Saskatchewan, and the fans inside the Fast Centennial Arena in Carnduff were treated to an outstanding game between the Red Devils and Rocanville Tigers on Friday night.

The two squared off in game one of the Provincial 'B' two-game/total-point series with the visitors earning a hard fought road win in the opener.

The Tigers would strike first as just 32 seconds into the game, Devin LeBlanc one-handed a shot through the five-hole of Cody Dumaine to put Rocanville up 1-0. That would remain the score after 20 minutes.

Brad Hickman's Two 2nd Period Goals Broke The Game Open.

Rocanville would add to their lead in the 2nd period thanks to their captain. Brad Hickman scored twice in a five minute span, with Ashley Howie drawing the primary assists on both goals, to put the Tigers up 3-0 after two periods.

The Red Devils were in a tight spot at home and needed a spark to start the final period to try and salvage the first game. They got it 57 seconds into the final frame as Jordon Miller, one of five Big Six stars added to Carnduff's roster for provincials, executed a beautiful individual effort going down the wing and roofing a quick shot past Scott Shivak to make it 3-1.

Carnduff would come close to making it a one-goal game over the next ten minutes, but were thwarted by Shivak multiple times. That allowed Rocanville the opportunity to regain their three-goal advantage when Dustin Fisher scored with just under ten minutes to play to put Rocanville up 4-1.

However, Brandon Trask would get Carnduff back into on the next shift by going top shelf on a breakaway to cut the deficit to 4-2.

The Tigers held Carnduff at bay for the rest of the game, finishing game one in a 4-2 final. Rocanville will have a two-goal advantage in the series when game two gets underway next Friday, February 16th back in the Rocanville Arena.
