The local skatepark hosted a large group for the BMX Jam, to help raise funds for the Estevan Humane Society.

Local organizer James Perry had this to say, "Born and raised in Estevan, so this is hometown for me."

Perry explained what they have going on, "Its just a BMX jam, kind of a laid-back style competition. We've got like 20 riders from Regina, Saskatchewan that came down. The Humane Society is doing Taco and a bag raising money through that. And we're also raffling off an $800.00 Complete, and money from that goes to them as well."

When asking him why he picked the Humane Society to help out, "I've done a couple of fundraising things like this before and they're always just my go-to I guess."

Perry had this to say about the overall excitement for the day, "Its a little bit windy, hopefully, that dies down. The scene in Estevan kind of hasn't been too busy lately. So I'm hoping this event will kind of kick start it. And bring it back."

The day will consist of a few special events and a product toss, as well as a BBQ and COMPLETE BIKE raffle with proceeds going to the Estevan Humane Society. Taking place Sept. 1st, 12pm-5pm.

The Humane Society was given a cheque for over $800.00 from this event. And they are greatly appreciative of all the young bikers who participated in helping out to raise funds for the Humane Society.
