For the second time this season, the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins shutout the Melville Millionaires on the road. However this time, it would be their rookie netminder getting the goose egg.

Curtis Meger made 36 saves and the Bruins' used three goals in the 2nd period to power past the Millionaires 3-0 on Wednesday night on Rock106.

Entering the game, the Bruins' had dropped two straight decisions while Melville and their goaltender Colby Entz were riding back-to-back shutout victories.

After a scoreless opening period, the black-and-gold would end Entz's shutout streak and get on the scoreboard.

Captain Lynnden Pastachak found Jake Fletcher driving the net with a Millionaires defenceman draped over him. Fletcher worked the puck to his backhand and slid the puck past Entz for his 15th of the year to make it 1-0.

Pastachak would score his 20th of the season just minutes later, sniping a shot past Entz's glove to make it 2-0 with Nolan Ferguson drawing the lone assist.

Mitch Torrens And Hayden Guilderson Dropped The Mitts Halfway Through Wednesday's Game.

Shortly thereafter, the fans in Melville would be treated to a spirited fight between Estevan's Hayden Guilderson and Millionaires' defenceman Mitch Torrens. Guilderson landed a pair of uppercuts as each player got a few shots in before being separated by the officials.

Estevan would continue to put on the pressure and it would pay off with another goal in the final minute of the 2nd period. Ferguson forced a turnover and passed the puck to Zach Goberis who fed Jayden Davis for a quick one-timer. Davis' 4th of the season made it 3-0 for the Bruins after 40 minutes.

Melville would get a few opportunities to try and spoil Meger's shutout bid in the third period. But the 18-year-old netminder stopped all 36 shots sent his way for his second shutout of the season and a 3-0 Bruins' victory.
