In their first outing in Black and Gold, facing a squad wearing anything but those colors, the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins' rookies showed strong promise with 3-3 tie against the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox Monday night.

Notre Dame took the lead in the first period 1-0, with the shot clock showing 11-10 in favor of the Bruins. Cody Davis buried one for Estevan half way through the second frame with help from George Cathers and Alex Von Sprecken, while Mason Strutt did likewise near the end of the period thanks to Eddie Gallagher and Josh Romanyk.

With just over a minute left to play, the Hounds took a 3-2 lead. The Bruins pulled their goalie with 38 seconds left to go, and the extra skater's help was enough for Davis to once again find the net with 0.1 seconds left to play, tying the game at 3 apiece. Five minutes of overtime solved nothing, and the two teams split ways with a split score.

The net was tended to by Kadin Kilpatrick to save 11 of 13 shots, and Grant Boldt for 11 of 12.

The Estevan Bruins' first exhibition goes September 7th against the Weyburn Red Wings.
