A tremendous season has come to an end sooner than expected for the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins as the Battlefords North Stars completed a four-game sweep with a 6-1 win on Tuesday night at Affinity Place.

HIGHLIGHTS:

It was a dominating series victory for Battlefords as the top team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League during the regular season has been even more impressive during the playoffs.

In a must-win Game 4 on Tuesday for Estevan, the same script that was written during the first three games carried over into the fourth.

Battlefords jumped out to yet another big early lead, with goals from Connor Logan, Coby Downs and Layne Young (PP) putting the North Stars up 3-0 after the first period.

A Disallowed Goal In The 2nd Period Helped Dash The Bruins' Hopes In Game 4.

The North Stars extended that lead to 5-0 after two period as Keaton Holinaty scored twice for Battlefords to put the game out of reach before the final period of play.

Michael McChesney scored the lone goal for Estevan in the 3rd period as the rookie forward continued his outstanding season with his 6th goal of the playoffs.

Jared Blacquire scored in the final minutes to round out the scoring as Battlefords won Game 4 by a 6-1 score, outscoring Estevan 23-8 in the four-game sweep.

Battlefords advances to the Canalta Cup Final and will face the winner between the Flin Flon Bombers and Nipawin Hawks (NIP leads 2-1) for the league title.
