The Estevan Curling Club will be bustling with activity for the remainder of the winter, kicking off this weekend with a pair of events.

The RMA Regional Playdowns are set on Friday to see which curlers will advance to provincial playdowns.

Following that competition, the weekend rolls right into the return of the annual Open Bonspiel at the Power Dodge Curling Centre.

"The Open Spiel will be a fun kickoff to our 2017 schedule at the club," expresses E.C.C. Manager Pauline Ziehl-Grimsrud. "They involve teams of four and it's open to everyone. So you can have four guys, four ladies, or a mixed team."

"We'll have the kitchen open all weekend and cash prizes for the winners, and it's going to be a great time.

Along with a busier schedule on the weekends, regular league play for the competitive league, recreational league and open league continues on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's.

Curling Day in Saskatchewan is set for Wednesday, January 25th. The Estevan Curling Club will have plenty of activities planned all day long to celebrate Saskatchewan's provincial sport.
