The two teams seeking their first win each of the tournament dueled it out in draw 7 of the Home Hardware Canada Cup Friday morning.

Matt Dunstone and Company took to the sheets against Reid Carruthers and crew, both sides 0-4. Dunstone jumped out two a two point lead after the first end, however, Carruthers found one in the second to narrow the gap. Another pair by the Saskatchewan quartet in the fourth end gave them a 4-2 lead, and by the seventh they'd amass seven points to force concession from Carruthers, and free the monkey from off their backs.

"It's a little late," he laughed, "It's nice to go out and get our first one. Obviously, in any event, you don't want to get skunked so it was nice to come out, and we definitely played our best game today."

"Today, we dialed in our big weight shot. Throughout the week we've kind of been wrong siding all of our big weight shots and today we kind of figured out how to throw those."

With one more game to play, and playoffs out of the equation, Dunstone added that they plan to simply enjoy the experience, and the fans.

Teams Bottcher and Koe, both with three wins and a loss, squared off with Koe finding four points in the third end, to take a 6-2 lead before gaining another four points in the fifth end. Then came a decision-timing call on Bottcher, and Koe took a 10-3 lead to win after eight ends.

"We struggled against those guys a couple times this year. They beat us a couple times and they're getting better, you can tell," stated Kevin Koe, "We got a lot of misses out of them, uncharacteristically, and we played well, so a big win for us."

Koe sits second to Team Jacobs, at 4-1, while Bottcher drops to third at 3-2. Dunstone climbs over Carruthers to sit sixth, at 1-4.

Team Scheidegger took on Einarson after a solid day two, but quickly found themselves down two in the first end. Despite scoring a pair themselves in the second and another in the fourth, Scheidegger was up 5-3 after five ends. Eianarson came back, however, for an 8-5 win with nine ends.

Jennifer Jones with her squad took on the struggling Team Flaxey. Flaxey opened the scoring with a single point in the first, before Jones found two in the second to take a slight lead. The pair traded points through another two ends but concluded the fifth as a blank. She eventually forced a 7-4 concession after nine ends.

Meanwhile, Rachel Homan was seeking to break out of .500 over a 1-3 Team Robertson. The game went back and forth defensively to wrap up the fifth end at a 3-all tie. After gaining three points in the eighth end, Homan took away a 7-6 victory.
