It was quite the experience for three young Carnduff peewee ball players to represent the province at a 13U national tournament, and give their opponents a good run for their money at the same time.

Carter Beck, Callum Hollinger and Aiden Trimble are returning home after finishing with Team Sask in sixth place, losing a tight tie-breaker game to Quebec after a 3-1 round robin.

"I thought that the boys, and the whole team, did really well. If anybody had lost one run here and there either way, we would have been on the right side of the tiebreaker. We played a good Quebec team, and couldn't get over them. It isn't what the kids had in mind going in, but still a pretty good result, altogether," shared Blair Beck, Carter's father and their Carnduff coach who accompanied them throughout the trip.

The boys weren't quiet in their roles, either. Solid pitching and hot batting helped get their team to the finish they saw.

"To get as much playing time as they did, and do as well as they did, was really exciting to see. They joined the best peewee ball players in the province, and it was really nice to see our boys able to play at that level."

Some fall ball is in order for the young players, before they put away the bat and pull out the skates for hockey season.
