The ECS Elecs high school football team will be turning the page quickly following their 2017 home opener in Estevan.

On a cool, overcast Tuesday evening at Woodlawn Field, the visiting Yorkton Raiders spoiled the atmopshere for the home team with a dominating 73-0 shutout over the Elecs.

The Raiders came into the game heavily favoured over the young Elecs squad, and backed it up on the field. Yorkton led 54-0 at halftime and scored on each possession in the second half to claim the victory.

"We've got a ways to go," expressed ECS Head Coach Mark Schott following the game. "But as unfortunate as the score was, our guys need to see the type of football and the type of effort it takes to compete at this level."

"We'll take what we can from this game, and focus on a quick turnaround in Weyburn on Saturday."

Estevan drops to (0-2) on the season while Yorkton improves to (2-0).

The Elecs travel to take on the Weyburn Eagles (0-2) on Saturday, September 23rd at 1:00.

The next home action for ECS is on September 30th during 'Football Day in Estevan' when they host Moose Jaw Peacock at 1:00.
