The ECS Junior Girls volleyball team capped off their season with a second place finish in their District tournament, held in Estevan.

"I feel the girls played great. We had a young team this year, the majority of them were grade 9's, but they were a strong group. Even a few of them made it onto the senior team this year...(that's) how strong the talent is. It was quite exceptional," said Head Coach Tamera Franklin.

For next season, she noted that one of the focuses of improvement will be the serving and receiving.

"In the final championship, we were up against some pretty strong servers, and we have to be able to take those serves and return them. That would be our big one that we would work on for next year if the same players come back."

"Since we started off with a young team, I really hope to see those same girls come out next year, just because I get another chance to work with them and see how far I can take them. Having a younger team made for a developing year, and I can't way to see them back again next year," Franklin added.
