The success continues to roll for ECS Senior Boys basketball team, and their season is only getting started.

In Brandon, Manitoba for the Brandon Sun Spartan Invitational, the boys made the most of one of the largest basketball tournaments in that province and advanced to the B side final. There, they came back from a 10 point deficit, but to lose by a mere basket to take home silver. They were 4-1 throughout the tournament.

"We definitely improved throughout the weekend...we just couldn't pull it out in the end," stated Assistant Coach Trevor Dutka, "It was a tough loss. Just one of those games where the baskets weren't falling for us, and it seemed like the other team sank everything they were shooting. It was tough on the boys, they definitely had to learn from that."

He added that they plan to work on their defense, which faltered in the final loss during the tournament. They'll have the entire Christmas break to reset, tweak and work off the holiday turkey in preparation for heading to Moose Jaw on January 4th and 5th.

"We're building towards the end of the year, and that's what Carmen (Lindquist, Head Coach) and I are both telling the boys. We're building right now to play better, better, better every weekend until we get to the end of the season, where we're going to hopefully compete for provincials," said Dutka.
