The ECS Senior Girls volleyball team took part in tournament action in Langenburg over the weekend, culminating in a semifinal finish.

It all got off to a strong start on Saturday, with 25-16 and 25-17 wins over Esterhazy and 25-18 and 25-19 wins over Melville. They struggled a bit against Oxbow, falling 8-15 and 18-25, before beating Langenburg 25-10 and 25-19 to finish second in their pool.

In the playoffs, they defeated Kelvington in the quarterfinal 27-25 and 25-22, before dropping the final two sets 20-25 and 22-25 to Wakaw.

"The girls did pretty well off the start. We were lucky we had a couple easier teams to start off with so we had a couple wins under our belt. Then we went into Saturday, starting off with the harder team, Oxbow. We knew we were coming up against a hard team in our pool. We kind of fell apart in our first set, Oxbow has incredible players and really hard serves...and we were just kind of playing a little bit scared. In the second set, they got a little bit more comfortable and they started actually passing and making some better plays, so we finished off pretty good," stated Head Coach Nicole Rogalski.

A few adjustments are planned as the playoffs approach, with Rogalski aiming to focus on being prepared for other team's serving styles as one of their points.

The girls head to Swift Current over November 2-3 to compete in Regionals.
