They barely started their season, and they're already in mid-season form. The ECS Elecs Senior Girls volleyball team got their year off with a solid start in Regina over the past weekend with an 8th place finish among 32 teams in the U of R Tournament.

"That was quite an accomplishment for us, not having a lot of practice before hand. The girls really came together and played...like they'd been playing all season," shared Coach Nicole Sinclair, noting that it's a young team but one that is bringing quite a bit of experience to the court.

"We only have two graduating players this year, lots in Grade 11 and a few Grade 9, so they're starting off fairly strong. Lots of them play volleyball throughout the year, so their improvement shows coming into the start of the season. We're really looking forward to a lot of accomplishments this year."

They open the Co-op challenge against Weyburn at the beginning of October, and in the meantime will host their home tournament next weekend.
