The ECS Elecs Senior Girls Basketball team enjoyed another successful weekend on the road this season, picking up a bronze medal win in Moose Jaw.

Led by Tatiana Dutka and Morgan Fichter, the girls had another good showing on their way to a 3-1 record, picking up valuable experience ahead of a busy February which includes a tournament in Regina, and the McLeod Series against Weyburn.

Results from Moose Jaw:

ECS 61-35 over Meadow Lake

ECS 69-37 over Prince Albert St Mary

Melfort 62-46 over ECS

ECS 89-42 over Swift Current

Highlights: Tatiana Dutka averaged 18 points per game while Morgan Fichter was no slouch, averaging 16 points per game.

"I was just really impressed with how the team improved from the previous weekend," Girls Coach, Jesse Smoliak said. "They just played as a team, defensively we did a good job of limiting teams to under 45 points."

"Against Melfort we came out flat, it's too bad because we shot 22 percent and in the bronze game, we shot 72 percent."

Next weekend, the girls will be in Regina at the Campbell tournament which includes many 4A and 5A teams which Smoliak expects to be a great test for the team.

The girls will host the first leg of the McLeod series on Tuesday, February 6th at 5:30 inside the comp. The season series head to head this year sits at 1-1.
