The ECS Elecs Senior girls basketball team picked up another bronze medal over the weekend at their tournament in North Battleford.

To open up the tournament, the girls beat Yorkton 63-47 and then would go on to lose in the semi-finals, 55-45 to North Battleford. In the bronze medal game, the girls would defeat Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders 70-47.

"We defeated P.A. Carlton in the bronze medal game in what was a really good defensive game for us," said girls Head Coach, Jessie Smoliak.

"Of course my Grade 12's were very consistent this weekend, also Grade 9 Haley Jones put in some big minutes for us this weekend and lot's of scoring opportunity so it was great to see her step up. We have three of them this year that work so hard, it's really nice because it's going to pay off heading into the next three years."

The girls focus immediately shifts to part two of the McLeod Series, which gets underway on Tuesday night in Weyburn.

"We are definitely excited and the girls are looking to redeem themselves following the home loss last Tuesday. We're just focusing on defense and really shutting Weyburn down, we don't want another eighty point game," Smoliak concluded.

The boys will get things started this time in Weyburn at 5:00 p.m, while the girls game gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
