The Estevan Golden Eels swim club hosted a swim camp over the weekend for the first time in years.

Open to all 16 other swim clubs in the province, the aquatic centre hosted 38 swimmers from Estevan, Watrous, Melfort, Regina and Oxbow.

Led by Owner and Head Coach of the Flatland Swimming Club in Regina, Jeff Toth led the way, focusing on the swimmers’ skill development in the water and strength training on dry land.

“After spending two full days with the Eels I have to say that you have a wonderful facility here and a great summer club," Toth said of Estevan. "I am convinced that this young team will be doing some very exciting things this year. We had a great time in Estevan and will be very happy to do whatever we can to help this team and we’d love to come back in the future.”

The camp provided a positive experience for all swimmers and coaches ahead of July's Provincial meet in Estevan.
