Practices are underway for the young football players getting set for another season of the sport in the Energy City, with the first game set for the beginning of September.

"I think it's going to be a really exciting year," said President Paul Duncan, "Our Atom program hopes to build off the success that they had last year. A lot of those returning players are also moving up to the Peewee program to help strengthen their numbers as well. In our Bantam program, we're still in need of players between ages 13-15. We're hoping to get another 10 players out."

He added that they've also held several safe tackling clinics for coaches in advance of the new season, as well as introducing new concussion protocol and training to increase safety and emergency response.

The organization is also looking forward to another Football Day In Estevan, where all four teams will be in action to celebrate the sport in town. The date set is September 22nd.
