Local water polo star Auriel Bill has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Division II National Player of the Year.

The sophomore driver for the California State University, East Bay Pioneers had a tremendous season in the pool, leading East Bay to a 16-8 record record. Bill finished the regular season as leading scorer in the Western Water Polo Association, scoring 45 goals, while adding 47 assists. She led the Association in steals with 37, and recorded seven hat-tricks, along with 15 multi-assist games.

Earlier in the year, Bill became the first player in school history to win the Western Water Polo Association Player of the Year. As a freshman in 2017, Bill also took home Newcomer of the Year.

In her first two seasons at Cal State, East Bay, the Estevan native has been named as a First Team All-American.
