Several Estevan Sharks Water Polo teams were at the Lawsone Centre in Regina over the weekend competing in the Provincial League finals.

It was the Under-16 Estevan Sharks girls team who did the most damage in the water, completing their tournament schedule without suffering defeat. They played seven games in total including winning the Gold medal final.

"The Cadet team has a core of the Hack sisters and the Andrist sisters, who have been playing together for about seven years," explained Coach, Tania Andrist. "When they're all clicking, it's hard to beat their teamwork, these girls have a real trust in each other and it shows on both offence and defense."

According to Andrist, newcomers Breanna Sinclair and Katryna Heleta contributed to the winning weekend for the Sharks.

Leading the way all season for the girls was Teaghen Hack, who has moved to Regina to play water polo, but still suits up for her local club.

In the boys tournament, the Estevan sharks were competing against older competition and came out with one win. Cameron Gillingham led the way for the boys with 4 goals.

The Cadet teams will travel to Saskatoon on March 31st for provincials.
