The Estevan Taekwondo Club was just one of the groups that were at City Wide Registration this fall.

"We got 31 or 32 new beginners," shared Don Dechief, a senior instructor and black belt, "which is great. City Wide works out well for us. We're off an running."

They held their first training session Monday evening.

"It was a big first class, it was huge. It was awesome. We're back at it again and really happy to see those numbers pick up."

The enthusiasm of the kids was also great to see and while it may not have been a quiet group, Dechief added that it was a good kind of noisy.

"They're really excited to get started at this and it was a good first class. We were all busy as instructors."

He added that kids can still register for the next few weeks but there is a waiting list for the minis (ages 6-8).

"We had to cap it at 20 because getting more than 20 going was a lot."

The club will host their tournament on November 3rd and they will also be attending several throughout the year as well as one in Toronto under Master Palella who visited Estevan in May.
