The Estevan Royal Canadian Legion held their annual 8 Ball Championship over the weekend which saw a local team take the crown.

It was the foursome of Doug Cairns, Burt Blondeau, Jim Barnstable and Burba Connor who walked away as the victors.

"There was about seven teams from the province competing with three from Swift Current and four from Estevan," explained Sports Chairmen for Branch 60, Frosty Forrest. "They played a total of 84 matches and will see the winning team now move on to the Dominion Championship."

"We had a great group of volunteers helping us out, it was very successful. We had great comments from the teams who came from out of town."

Teams from across Canada will make their way to Estevan in May to take part in the Dominion Championship, which runs from the 25-27th.

"I've played in the national tournament twice, and that is going to be some good competition," he concluded.
