Members of the organizing committee were at the Power Dodge Curling Rink this morning to receive a cheque from F & L Concrete for $5,000.

"We like to support the community," shared Chris Fichter, owner of F & L Concrete. "We just thought this would be a good place to contribute some money. It's going to be a special event."

He went on to add that with such a big event, they saw the need was there to support it.

"They're going to need all the money and volunteers that they can get so we thought we'd help out what we could."

And as for the Tankard itself, Fichter added that he is looking forward to it.

"Absolutely, I was here for the last one and watched it so I'll be here this time and watch it again."

The Tankard will take place at Affinity Place in Estevan from January 31 - February 4th, 2018.
