Through two days of competition at Lynne Prime Park in Estevan, the SPBL's top four teams will continue playing.

The Muenster Red Sox and Regina White Sox clinched the top spots in their pools, while the Saskatoon Cubs and Saskatoon Diamondbacks will join them for Sunday's semi-finals.

Saturday began with a 13-3 win for the Cubs over the Saskatoon Giants, with the game being called after five innings on a 10 run mercy rule.

Blake Pongracz earned the win, allowing only one hit over three innings.

In the second game of the day, the hometown Southeast Performance Pump Twins battled the Regina White Sox.

It was a tough start for the Twins, who found themselves down 7-0 through three innings.

The Twins got to work, beginning in the fourth inning, and loaded the bases in multiple innings to climb within reach of the White Sox.

Trailing 8-5 in the seventh inning, the Twins rally came up just shy, as they fell 8-7.

Dylan Bells got the win for Regina, allowing one hit in three innings.

The Muenster Red Sox needed only five innings to pickup their second win of the weekend, defeating the Regina Athletics 13-2.

Muenster quickly jumped on the A's, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, which included a bases clearing double by Tyler McWillie.

Morgan Gobeil started for Muenster, pitching all five innings while striking out eight batters.

Game four saw the top ranked Saskatoon Diamondbacks clinch a semi-final spot, defeating the Regina Wolfpack 6-2.

The Dbacks led 1-0 after the first inning, with no scoring coming until the fourth, when each side added one run.

Multiple base running errors proved costly for the Wolfpack, with Saskatoon widening their lead in the final inning with three runs.

Graham Forrester had a strong start in the win, pitching into the fifth inning, with only two hits allowed.

One of the highest scoring games of the tournament came between the A's and Giants.

The two sides went back and forth throughout seven innings, with the Giants taking a 13-8 decision to go home with a 1-2 record.

James Matchett picked up the win, with Nathan Kappel driving in six runs for Saskatoon.

The Twins were back on the diamond in the mid afternoon contest, as they met the Wolfpack.

Despite scoring the game's first two runs, the Twins found themselves down 7-2 through four and a half innings.

Like they have often done, Southeast buckled down and went to work, scoring two in the bottom of the fifth to make it 7-4.

They would add one run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to send the game to extra innings for the first time all weekend.

The two sides played a scoreless eighth inning, before the offence broke back out in the ninth.

Regina scored six runs to take a 13-7 lead. The Twins rallied back and came up just shy, falling 13-11.

The four playoff teams squared off in the final two games of the day, each looking to save some bodies and arms for Sunday.

Several key players sat in both games, with the White Sox earning first place in Pool A, defeating the Diamondbacks 14-8.

Dylan Edmands got the win in relief for Regina and also had two runs batted in.

In the other game, the Red Sox topped the Cubs 13-6.

Brody Frerichs helped lead Muenster on offence, driving in a pair of runs.

Matt McGrath pitched five innings to earn the win.

Sunday's semi-finals will begin at 10:00am, with the Red Sox taking on the Diamondbacks in a 2016 provincial final rematch.

The other game pits the White Sox against the Cubs.

The final and third place game are scheduled to begin at 1:00pm, with the champion advancing to the Canadian Championships in London, Ontario.

The runner-up and third place game winner will both head to Steinbach, Manitoba for Westerns.
