Curling has deep roots in the community and many of Estevan's residents have picked up a broom. That's one of the reasons that Ray Frehlick with Frehlick Farms decided to support the upcoming 2018 SaskTel Tankard with a contribution of $2,500.

"I used to be a competitive curler," he shared. "We donate to everything to everything in the community, hopefully that makes us a better community, a better city and makes this area a better part of our province."

And it's an opportunity to gather and take in the high level of curling.

"We're going to bring friends and customers and enjoy the curling."

"I hope we can fill the building and I hope it's very successful. I think it will be excellent curling and we have one of the nicest facilities in the province I don't know why it wouldn't be successful. Everything we do here in our city is usually successful."

The Tankard begins on January 31st and runs until February 4th.
