The Midget AA Southeast Goldwings are back to their winning ways, rebounding from their first loss to sweep the Parkland Fire in Melville over the weekend.

Kaycee Mullinger opened the scoresheet for the Southeast approximately half way through the first frame on Saturday. Parkland then tied it up with 3 and a half seconds left till the intermission. The Goldwings scored twice more in the second, thanks to Alyssa Ohrt and Marci Leblanc, to secure a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame. The two teams exchanged a goal each, the Goldwings point coming from Ohrt for her second of the night, to make it a 4-2 victory.

The next day, it was the Fire who opened the scoring, though it would be all they would get, despite a 43 save performance from their goaltender. Taryn McKinney blocked 23 of 24 shots for Southeast while Jordan Meyers and Haley Labbie scored, the latter with the final two goals for a 3-1 win.

The Peewee Bearcats spent the weekend on the road, with stops in Lafleche and Weyburn.

They took on the Wood River Ice Cats on Saturday. Kaylin Wilhelm found the net first for Estevan, which was answered by the Ice Cats before Gracie Leblanc made it a one goal lead again with less than thirty seconds left in the frame. The second period carried on with goals from Wilhelm once again and Lauren Hassler, with only one more to show for Wood River. Wilhelm put another puck past the Cats for her third night for a 5-2 victory.

Looking to carry the momentum forward, the Bearcats stopped in Weyburn on Sunday to take on the Wings. This time, they skated away with a 5-3 loss.
