The hot streak continues for the Southeast Midget Goldwings, nudging their wins to nine on the season after burning Melville`s Parkland Fire in a pair of games over the weekend in Midale.

Bailey Farr took advantage of a power play in the first frame on Saturday to get the Goldwings out to a 1-0 lead. The scoring dried up temporarily in the second period, but Kendra Kotylak and Marci Leblanc solved that in the third. Meanwhile, Taylor Nagy stopped all comers to back the team to a 3-0 shutout.

On Sunday, Leblanc opened the scoresheet for Southeast in the first period, again on the power play. Melville showed a little more grit on the second match of the weekend and tied it in the second, leaving it up to the third frame to work out a difference. Kaycee Mullinger found the net six minutes in, followed by a short handed marker approximately six minutes later, both unassisted, to boost the Goldwings to a 3-1 advantage. The Fire would attempt to comeback with two minutes left off of Kaitlyn Sauser, but Southeast held on for a 3-2 final score.
