The competitors in the upcoming 14th edition of the Home Hardware Canada Cup are coming to light, as the field will also be slightly expanded due to qualifying ties in the standings.

The event decides the mens and womens teams that will have a berth in the 2021 Road to the Roar Pre-Trials, the final qualifying event for the 2021 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials, which in turn determine who represents the nation at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. And the battle for the Cup all takes place in Estevan in Affinity Place in December.

Six men's and seven women's teams have been listed so far to take to the ice, with veterans and new faces alike hurrying hard to advance, and one more of each gender will be decided in the fall. The champions of the event also get a shot at the World Curling Federation World Cup.

On the women's side, reigning World Women's and Canada Cup champ Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg will be among those competing, along with Ottawa's Rachel Homan, Laura Walker of Edmonton, Chelsea Carey of Calgary, Casey Scheidegger from Lethbridge, Kerri Einarson of Gimli and Darcy Robertson of Winnipeg.

For the men's, 2018 Tim Hortons Briar champ and World silver medalist Brad Gushue of St. Johns will be joined by Edmonton's Brendan Bottcher, Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Kevin Koe of Calgary, 2016 Canada Cup champ Reid Carruthers of Winnipeg and Toronto's John Epping.

The Home Hardware Canada Cup happens at Affinity Place from December 5-9, 2018.
