One last time in 2017, the Estevan Junior Roller Derby Club will hit the surface at the Bienfait rink for their black and pink intersquad game.

"We are done in the rink after Thursday. The ice goes in and hockey ruins it for us," Roller Derby Coach Lorelei Lachambre said with a laugh. "We are just saying goodbye to the rink, so every time before we leave we have one final intersquad game to get the girls having fun on the full track."

Because there is no place big enough for the girls to play a game during the hockey season, they shift inside the Trinity Church Gym to work on their skills and strategy.

"Two times a week, one group goes for an hour and a half and our more advanced group goes for two hours. All the Saskatchewan teams all play in rinks, so we have to wait until the ice comes out in April and then we start up our games again."

Lachambre also mentioned that the club added some fresh blood at their recruitment's in Bienfait earlier in September.

"We had two really good recruitment's and we ended up with five new skaters and that was our goal so we were really pleased with how it went. All five girls are so excited, they have looked at ordering equipment and are very excited to join our team," Lorelei concluded.
