Power Dodge Estevan Bruins 20-year-old forward Kaelan Holt has been named SJHL Player of the Week.

The hometown product played a major part in the Bruins first round sweep of the Kindersley Klippers, opening the scoring in game one, and scoring the series clinching goal in game four.

Holt was a dominant force at both ends of the ice for his team all season long and continued that trend into the playoffs. In the Bruins 5-0 game three win, Holt had a trio of assists before he went on to break a 2-2 tie in game four, to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead and the series win.

Meanwhile, for the fourth straight week, Bruins netminder Bo Didur was named runner-up as SJHL Goaltender of the Week. Starting all four games for the Bruins in round one, Didur made a number of key stops in the series that either secured the Bruins lead or kept the game tied up. His playoff 1.25 goals against average and .955 save percentage rank second in the SJHL, having stopped 106 of the 111 shots that have come his way.

Along with Holt and Didur was defenseman Jake Heerspink who received a nod as runner-up for SJHL Defenseman of the Week. One of the Bruins most consistent defenders in the first four games of the playoffs, the 20-year-old from Regina notched three assists in the Bruins game three defeat of the Kindersley Klippers.

The Bruins will open up their second round playoff match up in the Battlefords on Friday and Saturday night, before returning home to host the North Stars for games three and four on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
