Another National Championship League (NCL) season has begun for several local water polo players, as Taeghen and Mikayla Hack and Cameron Gillingham headed to Surrey, B.C for tournament action.

With Gillingham on defense, the men's team put on an undefeated performance, beating Fraser Valley 13-5, the West Coast Warriors 15-7, Pacific Storm 15-5, then back to wins over Fraser Valley (22-10) and Pacific Storm (18-9).

Meanwhile, Taeghan and Mikayla Hack started off with a 7-5 loss to Pacific Storm on the women's side, followed by three goals from Taeghan against Fraser Valley for a 15-12 victory. They then fell 11-7 to the Edmonton Tsunami, before Mikayla scored once and Taeghan four times to beat the Calgary Renegades Gold 19-3. They tied Fraser Valley 10-10 before ending off with a 9-8 win over the Calgary Renegades Black, a 3-2-1 finish.

The next NCL water polo action is set for February.
