The Midget AA Estevan Apex Bruins picked up a big win on Sunday night after getting shutout on Saturday.

Despite out-shooting the Yorkton Kinsmen Terriers 36-24 on Saturday, the Bruins couldn't find a way to get one past goaltender Spencer Welke.

The Terriers broke the ice late in the first period with just 52 seconds left, to take a 1-0 lead into the second. Yorkton would add to their total mid-way through the second period, scoring three goals in four minutes to lead 4-0 after two.

It was more of the same for the Terriers in the third, where they would add two more to walk out of Affinity Place with a 6-0 shutout over the Bruins.

On Sunday night, the Midget AA Estevan Apex Bruins welcomed the Lumsden/Bethune Lions to town, looking for a solid response after Saturday's loss.

Jaiden Gervais would get things rolling for the Bruins just mid-way through the first when he put one past Ryan Christison to give the black and gold a 1-0 lead. Dalton Schrader would extend the Bruins lead to 2-0 after he found the back of the net with 2:37 remaining in the first.

Heading into the second up 2-0, Lumsden would fight their way back into the game when they cut the Bruins lead in half, just three minutes into the period. Only sixteen seconds later, Dawson Schaff would regain the two goal lead for Estevan to make it 3-1. The Lions wasted no time and would cut into the lead once again after scoring two minutes later.

Entering the third period with a tight 3-2 lead, Cale Adams would find the back of the net on the power-play to give the Bruins a 4-2 lead. Once again, the Lions would find life on a short-handed goal to make it 4-2. The Lions would pull their goalie to add the extra attacker, but just like he opened the scoring, Gervais would close it out to make it 5-3 on an empty-net goal for the Bruins win.

The Bruins now sit tied for third place in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League standings with a record of 10-6-2. With two goals in Sunday's contest, Jaiden Gervais added to his league leading 31 points, with 13 goals and 18 assists in only 18 games. The Bruins return to the ice on Sunday, December 10th in Regina against the Capitals at 7:45 p.m.
