The Midget AA Apex Bruins have their backs against the wall in their Best-of-5 league final against the Yorkton Terriers.

Yorkton edged Estevan 2-1 in Game 3 at Affinity Place on Saturday night. Now the Bruins will have to steal a game on Sunday in Yorkton to force a fifth and deciding game back in Estevan.

Yorkton came out in the first period flying, carrying the majority of the play and scoring halfway through the period to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Estevan Celebrates The Tying Goal In The 2nd Period.

The Bruins had a good response in the second period and after great pressure, would tie the game.

A shot from the point would be deflected in front by Jaiden Gervais, picking the corner and tying the game 1-1. 

Both teams would generate chances looking for the go-ahead goal, but it would be Yorkton retaking the lead with another goal off the rebound to go up 2-1 after two periods.

Bryson Garton Made Several Stops For The Bruins To Keep It A One-Goal Game.

Estevan would push for the equalizer in the third period, but would ultimately be shut down. After the Bruins took a penalty in the final minute of play, Yorkton controlled the puck to run out the clock and win 2-1.

The final shots on goal would end 33-20 in Yorkton's favour.

Game 4 is less than 20 hours after the game ended, with the two teams returning to Yorkton for a 4:30 start.

If Estevan wins Game 4, the league final returns to Affinity Place on Wednesday, March 29th at 7:30.
