There were pair of huge wins over the weekend for the Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins as they beat the Yorkton Terriers 9-2 Friday and 5-0 Saturday at Affinity Place. 

The Bruins jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first period in Friday's contest and cruised to the win. Joey Meredith and Kieran Stewart scored a pair of goals each and Trey Stovin chipped in with a goal and two assists. Other goals in the game were scored by Tristan Seeman, Tayce Miller, Kelby Widenmaier and Chase Gedak. Zane Winter stopped 24 shots in the Bruins net and the Bruins fired 46 shots at Yorkton's goaltenders. 

Saturday, the Bruins were able to keep the Terriers off the scoresheet with a strong performance by goaltender Morgan Wanner. He got 15 saves in the shutout. Gedak scored a goal and three assists and Triston Sorenson scored a pair of goals in the game. Other markers were notched by Meredith and Kade Bendsten.  

The wins move the Bruins to a tie for third place in the southern division of the Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League.

The Bruins' next action is Tuesday night in Notre Dame when they take on the Argos.
