The Midget Estevan Bruins split a pair of games on the road over the weekend to wrap up October.

On Friday they took on the the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox and lost a tight 3-2 decision. Notre Dame jumped out ahead in the first frame, until Tanner Stovin added on unassisted to tie it up. Things remained that way for another entire 20 minutes. It wasn't until the third that the goal lights began to light a little more frequently, Tristan Seeman scored, followed by one from the Hounds, who followed up with one more to bring the game to a 3-2 conclusion.

Looking to bounce back the next day, the Bruins did so in a big way. Kelby Widenmaier opened up the floodgates just a bit against the Yorkton Terriers in the first frame, but that was all it would take. The dam burst in the second period with goals from Dalton Schrader, Trey Stovin and Jared Fornwald, followed by Joey Meredith, Chase Gedak twice, Widenmaier's second and a final one from Steward to a tally of nine. Yorkton only scored once in the third for an Estevan 9-1 victory.
