Midget AA Apex Bruins

The Apex Bruins had two paths ahead of them...one would extend their season a little longer, the other would close the book. They managed the former, and on Friday night, forced a game four against first round playoff matchup Swift Current Broncos.

High power duo Kyler Gervais and Dawson Schaff opened the scoring, with Gervais redirecting the puck from Schaff, to be answered by Swift several minutes later. From there on, Estevan dominated the scoreboard, as Schaff meshed a puck in the second frame, and Gervais once again in the third to bring a final 3-1 home.

Game four goes at 2:00 on Saturday in Affinity Place.

Westmoreland Peewee Bruins

The Peewee Bruins had a similar option in front of them Friday night, and they too managed to extend their season for yet another game, with a victory over the Melville Millionaires in the Power Dodge Ice Center.

A high scoring first period set the tone for the evening, as Jordan Marcotte led the way for his team, tallying two goals and Ty Hoste adding another. However, they entered the first intermission outscored 5-3. They came back in the second frame to tie it 7-7, thanks to Emmett McCarthy, Tate Kasick and Carson Birnie, and Marcotte netting his third of the night. Estevan then took over from there, as Kersey Hollingshead scored, joined by Birnie's second of the evening and Marcotte's fourth and fifth of the game, to wrap things up for Estevan 11-9.

The third and final game of the first round playoff series is set to go at 4:30 on Sunday back in Melville.
