Riley Hengen coach of the Apex Midget AA Bruins, "It's been good, my coaching roll going into it I think its gone pretty smoothly. Dustin Jordan has done a great job helping out, as far as the team, we were a bit inconsistent at times throughout the year, but we've got a lot better now. And it definitely helps too that we've avoided injuries lately. That was definitely a headache to deal with at the start of the season. Once we are full swing here with a full roster we like where we're at right now."

Hengen recalls the highlights for the year, "There were a couple nights there, where players had big nights individually."

Looking forward to 2019 he is preparing the team, "We're going to busy in January with 11 or 12 games in the month, as soon as we get back from the Christmas break we're going to be going full tilt here. As a team, if we can climb into the top 3 or 4, I think the playoffs would be a good spot for us to be in. And then once the playoffs start hopefully we'll make some noise."

"When our team is playing defensively sound, were actually at our best and we have 2 good goalies back there. Whatever we can lock down at our end, limit the goals against and carry on our offensive chances when they come and that will ensure the most success for our team."

The Midget Bruins host Moose Jaw Warriors at 8:00 pm this Saturday, January 5th. They visit the Regina Rangers at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, January 8th.
