It's another busy weekend of minor hockey in the southeast as the various leagues try to cram in another game before the Christmas break.

Saskatchewan AA Hockey League (SAAHL)

On Friday, the Estevan Bantam Bruins host a rival they've seen frequently, in the form of the Yorkton Terriers. Saturday sees them visit the Regina Monarchs, while the Peewee Bruins visit the Melville Millionaires. The Midget Bruins will entertain the Regina Vics that evening. On Sunday, the Peewees play the second of their back to back in Melville, while the Midgets do the same with Regina in Affinity Place.

League action takes a break, for the most part, throughout the holidays. For Estevan teams it picks back up on Friday, January 4th when the Midget Bruins host the Melville Millionaires before taking on the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday. At that point, the Peewee Bruins welcome the Swift Current Broncos and the Bantam Bruins take in the Notre Dame Hounds. Sunday will see the Peewee Bruins play their second of the weekend against Swift Current while the Bantam Bruins host the Battlefords Barons.

Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SFHL)

The Estevan Peewee Bearcats get things started when Melville's Parkland Fire comes to town on Friday and Saturday. From there, local league action doesn't resume until Saturday, January 5th, when the Peewees visit the Ochapowace Thunder. The Southeast Midget Goldwings, meanwhile resume their hotstreak against the Notre Dame Hounds on Sunday. That day, the Bantam Bearcats return to the ice as they visit the Prairie Storm.

South East Minor Hockey League (SEMHL)

A busy weekend sees the Peewee Thunder visit Radville while the Storm visit Yellow Grass, both on Friday. On Saturday, the Atom Bruins host the Milestone Flyers, the Atom Kings visit Weyburn, the Peewee Wolves visit the Peewee Storm and the Atom Warriors host Radville. Sunday sees the Atom Kings back in action, this time against the Atom Bruins while the Peewee Thunder host Yellow Grass. After the Christmas break, the Peewee Storm visit Weyburn on the 29th, while the Wolves host Weyburn. Sunday the 30th will see the Atom Kings make their own trip to Weyburn, along with the Peewee Wolves.

To start the new year, the Peewee Wolves host Radville on the 4th of January, while the Thunder visit Radville, the Atom Warriors visit Milestone and Atom Tier 1 Bruins host Swift Current. The 5th has the Atom Warriors hosting Weyburn, the Atom Tier 1 Bruins hosting Swift Current once again, and the Atom Kings and Peewee Thunder hosting Milestone. On the 6th, the Atom 1 Bruins host Swift, Atom Kings visit Weyburn and Peewee Storm host the Midale Mustangs.

Moose Mountain Minor Hockey League (MMMHL)

It all gets started on Friday when the Midget Bears visit Carlyle and the Bantam Knights visit Milestone. Saturday has the Novice 3 hosting Arcola, the Midget Bears hosting Milestone, Midget Wolves hosting Weyburn and the Knights hosting Carnduff. Then on Sunday, the Estevan Novice 3 visit the Novice 4.

After Christmas, the Midget Wolves host Redvers on the 29th as the Bears host Weyburn, and the Novice 1 host Arcola while the Midget Bears host Redvers on the 30th.

Following another break for New Years celebrations, action resumes on the 4th as the Midget Wolves host Arcola/Lampman, and on the 5th when they take on Carnduff. The 6th has the Midget Bears hosting Arcola/Lampman, the Bantam Bears visiting Redvers and the Midget Wolves hosting Radville.
